For the past two decades, I have been working across industries helping build innovative products that connect the needs of the users to the objectives of the companies that I work with. I really enjoy deep diving into different industries and helping them innovate. I love meeting users and seeing how we can improve their lives and get real satisfaction from connecting a business case to those solutions.
Business
Philosophy
Every product is different and each should be approached as a unique solution to a specific problem. Over the years I have found that working with a core set of beliefs has helped guide me, and the companies I've worked with, to succeed.
I believe in the future.
For all of the challenges that exist in our society, the future will be built by people, so why not be a part of that? So I think every product should contribute to building a better future. They should be sustainable, accessible, equitable, and socially responsible at some level.
I believe in collaboration.
Products built in a vacuum rarely succeed, and so I like meeting with people. I like exchanging ideas and making sure that everyone, from key stakeholders to end users have an opportunity for their voice to be heard. In the end, products are built for users, and it's the businesses to
I believe in making decisions.
More importantly, I believe in making informed decisions. Too often, I encounter people who would rather defer a decision than move forward. Research is a key component of any successful product, but an infinite amount of information can be gathered around any industry, user group, or design trend. Research should turn into results, and that only happens when decisions get made. I make decisions.

Personal
Life
There is no way to separate the business side from my personal side. I love a good conversation and I like building a rapport with those I interact with. Spending any amount of time with me and you will learn at least these things about me.
Coffee Nerd
More than a fondness, I very nearly found myself in a career in coffee, having helped start and often consulted on the creation of several coffee shops. At this point, my home setup could likely compete with most high-end commercial shops. If I don't have a coffee in my hand, ask if I'm okay.
Outdoor Nerd
I already spend innumerable hours in front of a screen, so when I have the opportunity I get out to enjoy myself. Much of my thinking time is spent cycling, rock climbing, backpacking, or paddle boarding. It clears the head and focuses my thoughts and keeps me in some sort of shape, but most importantly, it's fun.
Nerd Nerd
Between my weekly game of Dungeons & Dragons, dressing in costume for ComiCon, and naming my oldest child after Lord of the Rings, my nerd flag flies high. My love of science fiction and fantasy easily crosses into a fascination with science and technology, and it shows in my work and in how I play.
